“ I’m running to fight for economic growth and job creation. I’m running to stop gun violence. I’m running to improve the quality of life for Seniors. ”
After twenty-four years working in corporate America, Dennis Hinds has decided to become a Public Servant, answer a calling and share his knowledge and experience to make our District 102 a better community. Dennis has resided in Florida for the last 17 years (2002) after relocating from New York, where he was born (Brooklyn) and raised. Dennis has a strong Caribbean heritage through his Jamaican parents and wife (Wendy). Currently, Dennis is licensed to sell real estate, life and health insurance in the State of Florida. Dennis also has extensive financial experience from working for investment and financial institutions such as Smith Barney, Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union, Citibank, and Bank of America. Dennis frequents several churches in the community and his hobbies are traveling and playing the sport of Domino.
Dennis is motivated to bring more jobs and business opportunities to our District. One of his objectives is to host community workshops guiding residents on how to successfully start their own business. Dennis wants to cultivate and migrate more corporate, manufacturing and other business industries within our district. He recognizes that if we can continue being an attractive market place for such entities it will lead to job growth, and stimulate our local economy.
Dennis is committed to serving others; particularly those who are less self-sufficient. He is a volunteer basketball coach and mentor for the Police Athletic League, and has volunteered at the Miami Veterans Hospital, homeless shelters, and food pantries throughout our District. He aspires to institute more after-school programs, to foster positive environments where our youths can participate in the arts, educational, and sports activities. For seniors, he would like to create more social activities and promote health awareness programs. Dennis recognizes the importance and benefits of creating strong interpersonal and social relationships for our residents.
Additionally, Dennis wants to continue to strengthen and support our police force, and firefighters, who are the backbone of our communities. We all want our District to continue being the choice District in South Florida. Working closely with our city leaders, it will be Dennis’ focus to lower taxes and increase property values.
Dennis is proud to call our District home, he is confident that with your vote and support we can ensure our District will remain a great place to live, raise families, earn a living, start and maintain a business, and be a District of strong economic growth.
